There are 2 ways to exchange QSL cards with us:
1) Send it direct to our postal address
2) Send it through the bureau
Which way to use is up to you. However here're some points you may want to consider when making this decision:
DIRECT QSLING:
1) Our main postal address is
|
8Q7GU:
c/o Mr. Andrey Kvochkov
P.O. Box 179
050000 Almaty,
Kazakhstan
|
8Q7GC:
c/o Mr. Mikhail Chirkov
P.O. Box 15
050009 Almaty,
Kazakhstan

2) Overall postal service in Kazakhstan is reliable. We have had only very few letters go missing. Most of the mail arrives safe & sound.
3) It usually takes about 2-3 weeks for airmail to arrive from Europe and Japan to Kazakhstan.
4) It's best NOT TO SEND US dollars to cover postage. Not all of the Kazakh postal clerks are honest people and it may happen that some envelopes will 'go missing' if found containing 'valuable posession'.
5) If you want to make donations to help offset costs to our DXpedition the best way to do it is by sending whatever amount you may have through PayPal to our account name - . Of course, we are very grateful for all the donations and will make sure we properly recognize our sponsors!
6) It's best to include 1 IRCs. In case if you cannot get a hold of IRCs then please include 2 US dollars (unfortunately 1 USD is not sufficient). IRCs are easily exchanged with the postal stamps and ensure air mail reply.
7) It's best to include SAE or SASE since all of our direct mail will be handled in a standard automated way. We will send our QSL cards in standard envelopes with computer-printed labels. It's best if you include a small piece of paper with your return address clearly typed in Roman alphabet letters. This will ensure quick reply
8) Direct reply will take from 2 weeks to 1 month depending on our workload and postal service.
9) While on Maldives we don't have a facility to send local mail so please don't request us to send you something from overthere! Our location is 100 km from Male, the capital, there's no postal office there and no way we can organize Maldivian originated mailing.
BUREAU QSLING:
1) Kazakhstani bureau is operated by Amateur Radio Union of Aktobe, regional ham radio organization located in the city of Aktobe, West Kazakhstan. The postal address of the bureau is:
UN-QSL Bureau
c/o Mr. Sergey Borissov, UN1II
P.O.Box 113,
03000 Aktobe,
Kazakhstan
2) Kazakhstani QSL bureau offers reliable service to all regions of Kazakhstan
3) It usually takes about 1-2 months for QSL mail to arrive to us but it eventually gets here and gets replied.
4) The lead time for QSL bureau replies can be up to 4 months so don't be surprised if you don't see our QSL cards straight in your bureau box after a couple of weeks.
